Next Question on Photography

Does anybody have a comparison between Google's Picasa (a free tool) versus Adobe Lightroom for workflow processing?

Oof where do we begin. A consumer tool versus a professional tool. Adobe Lightroom is great. Has a great workflow for editing JPG and esp. RAW files. Depending on how much you do with your photos. Basic edits Picasa I'm sure does fine. For more advanced edits Lightroom works great and if you start to tag photos with data then Lightroom can't be beat.

If there's something you are looking for specifically?

No, I'm not looking for something in particular. I'm just wondering if I should spend the money buying Lightroom since I can get an educational discount, now that I'm a student again.

I really like it. LR 3 is coming out soon. I'd say wait for that if you decide to pull the trigger. If you find that you have a mountain of photos this gets you the majority of edits you need without needing to use photoshop. My work would be nearly impossible without it.
